Surgery Day

Andrew came through surgery well. The surgeon is pleased with the way his lip looks and so are we. So far is doing okay with the no-no's(restraints). He was able to eat yogurt and chocolate pudding for dinner and has been drinking some juice. Who knows maybe we'll be able to go home tomorrow. The surgeon said he is a poster child for the surgery. She is surprised at how well he is eating and drinking so far. Most children internationally adopted  that have this surgery take longer to eat and drink due to their lack of understanding. He's already on the OR schedule to have his stitches out next Wednesday. Dr. David will be in Moldova on a mission trip so one of her partners will remove the stent and stitches. They also inserted his ear tubes and got a lot of "gunk" out. There was no scar tissue. Praise the Lord for all His many blessings. I was going to post a picture with his new smile but it wouldn't download. Will have to wait til we get home. Sharon, his smile reminds me of Hudson's. Thanks for everyone's prayers. We have felt them and we tremendously blessed to have you all as friends and family and to have Andrew and have him do so well. May God bless you all. Please be praying for China and Myanmar.

My Little Gardener!

Don't you just love it! He's also got his Tarheel cap on. Go Heels!!! He also loves to watch the birds and fill the bird feeders! I also have a hard time keeping him from helping unload the dishwasher.

The Girls at Work Give Us a Shower for Andrew

Melissa made a beautiful cake. She knew the theme for Andrew's room is Winnie- the- Pooh so that's what she did. It was fantastic! It was chocolate with cookies and cream filling. HMMMHMM good!!!!! As you can see, Andrew really enjoyed it when we got home. He had it smeared everywhere! He loves playing with everyone's name tag that has the little pull out on it. He pulls it out and then lets it fly! Over and over again! He got the little ball in one of his presents and started playing ball with Helle. He also went straight to Janice and looked at her with his arms up as if to say, "pick me up Janice".  They love him at work. Everyone has been so supportive of the whole adoption process and prayed us through it. It's like Andrew is there's also. They just want to eat him up!
My little man has really been keeping me busy. Sorry it's been a week and a half since I posted last. He's in to everything and trys to figure out how every thing works. He's been to church twice now and feel asleep in the hallway with Kevin holding him. He loved the music and fell asleep when Pastors Lynn and Don started to talking. Don's wife asked me what time I wanted them to come over every night to put Andrew to sleep! LOL! Don and Donna have also been great through this process and have really kept us bathed in prayer. Don married us 4 years ago and he and Donna were involved  in our premarital counseling. They're a wonderful couple and love the Lord so much. He's also been to small group Bible study with us twice. He plays with the kids and sitter while the rest of us meet for study.  He did great and is always trying to give the others a toy. The 2 older girls are like little mother's to him!
We spent all last Tuesday at Baptist at doctor's appointments getting ready for surgery on the 14th. We'll be doing lip closure, pe tubes in the ears and a stent in the nose. He'll be in for 1-3 days depending on how he eats and drinks.
Andrew has been helping in the garden also. We put out tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, peppers and herbs. He also helped me put out the flowers and pull weeds. I have to watch him really close. He's really quick and will try to eat dirt if I'm not careful. He did that today. I had just turned around and back again and he had dirt in his mouth. He definitely a 2 year old and a boy!
Will let everyone know surgery time when We get it on the 13th.  Thanks for all your prayers and love.
In His Grip,
Lisa
PS Abby Grace is home and doing wonderful. Please continue to pray for Micah and his parents, Roy and Debra. Also America World has families in China right now picking up their children. They met their children yesterday. Please be praying for them also.
Love to everyone!

Having fun at Aunt Nancy and Uncle Elroy's

Andrew had a blast playing with his cousin Jacob at Aunt Nancy and Uncle Elroy's. They then had a feast for dinner out on the deck. Made clean up alot easier afterwards! Andrew loved the car. He keeps wanting to go over and ride in the car. He also loves to get in and out of it all the time. Jacob will turn 2 this month on the 18th.  Never would know he was a preemie! He's much bigger than Andrew.
