May 30, 2008- 2 MONTHS ALREADY!!!

It's so hard to believe Andrew has been our son for two months already! We are so blessed! God has granted us the desire of our hearts. We so wanted to raise a child of ours to know Him and love Him and worship Him. We pray for His direction and guidance every day and for wisdom in disciplining our little boy who is definitely 2 years old and definitely all boy! We are so excited about the opportunity He has given us! We love this little boy that God has so graciously given us. Praise be to our Lord and Savior above!
Andrew has been quite the social bug despite his surgery. He has recuperated well and quickly. He finally got rid of his no-no's and stent on May 30th. Yeah!!!! He loves the freedom. Three days after his surgery, we went to a cookout for our friends Shelley and Peter who have returned for the summer. They have been on the mission field in Angola. It was great to see them again and we had an enjoyable time catching up with friends and introducing them to Andrew. Andrew really picked up on giving people hugs that night.  He got his stitches out on the 21st and then back to the doctor on the 30th for the other.
On the 23rd, we headed to Nanny and Papa's (Lisa's parents near Goldsboro, NC) for Memorial day weekend. He had a blast as did we! He found my younger sister, Jennifer's (now in heaven) rocking chair and had lots of fun. We were given a shower on Saturday by many of our friends in the church I grew up in. Andrew really had fun there! He loved the balloons and stuffed animals and meeting all the new people. He really got a lot of nice things. He really loved the jug stuffed panda and rabbit. We also got to celebrate my nephew's 14th birthday while we were there.
With much dismay  I went back to work on the 26th!. I really didn't want to go and it was very hard. I did not cry however. LOL!  I'm adjusting and Kevin enjoys taking care of Andrew while I'm at the hospital. I work 3- 12 hour shifts/week. It truly is a joy to see his smiling face and excitement when I get home from a grueling day of work and to see my dear husband's face.
We're staying busy and still have lots to do and catch up on. Sorry it has taken me so long to catch up and keep everyone posted. I'm actually writing this post on June 10 after a long 12 hour shift. Kevin had dinner ready when I got home then we got Andrew bathed and off to bed. Tomorrow it's my turn to care for him. Will catch you  up on the rest shortly. Love to all and thanks for your prayers!
Lisa
PS: As you can tell from the pics, we're trying to give equal time to the NC Tarheels and the Nebraska Huskers!
