It all seems surreal some how. Our God is an awesome God and His timing is perfect and He is in total control of it all. We have waited and waited but it will be well worth it! 43 years for each other and now after 4 yrs of marriage we finally become a family with our new son, Andrew! We'll celebrate his birthday in China .(It"ll just be a little late!)
"For I know the plans I have for you, " declares the Lord,"Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your heart and minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7
"Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol Him, all you peoples. For great is His love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever." Psalm 117
Dear friends, please keep our journey bathed in prayer. We ask specifically for prayer regarding health, safety, Andrew's attachment, his nannies, his crib mates, and his parents who chose to grant him life 2 yrs ago. Also, please pray for peace and salvation for the Tibetans and the Chinese and for paperwork, etc. to go smoothly.

Hey Lisa,
I know you and Kevin are going to be great parents. You know we have a lot in common with a heart for adoption and mission work. I actually planned on spending my life on the mission field (was with YWAM during college years). I tend to think love for international adoption and missions go hand in hand. Mark also had a heart for missions (and had done some short term work) so you can imagine my suprise when after Jordan was born he told me he felt called to law school. NO WAY, was my response, not the suburban, professional life for me. Well, in his wisdom he asked me to pray about it and wouldn't move forward till I felt called as well. A year later, we were in Tulsa, starting school. 15 years later we had the same conversation when desire to adopt just hadn't disappeared and so here we are, a few short days away from boarding that plane for China.
We can't wait to experience your first moments and days of parenthood with you. You have to be laid back and flexible to do mission work so parenthood will come naturally.
You guys will rock!!!
love, sharon
